Locating in Guanliping Sub-district Office in Yongding District, Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park is 8 kilometers south of the downtown. Unlike Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park is convenient to go with many kinds of transportations.

Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park lower cable car station locates 5 kilometers northeast of Zhangjiajie Lotus International Airport. Airline passengers can take either route 4 or route 402 city bus to go to the Tianmen Mountain lower cable car station from the airport firstly, and then they can either ride the cable car to go directly to the mountaintop or take the environmentally friendly shuttle bus to go to the entrance of the park. City buses route 4 and route 402 operate from 6:30 am to 9:30 pm and one way journey takes 30 to 50 minutes with bus ticket fare of CNY 2 Yuan per person. On the other hand, it takes about half an hour to take the cable car to go uphill excluding the queuing time. Tianmen Mountain cable car operates from 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Sunday. Please note that Tianmen Mountain cable car usually undergoes maintenance every November and it is out of service for that month. To take taxi to travel directly from Zhangjiajie Airport to Tianmen Mountain lower cable car station, it takes about 10 minutes and taxi fare is about CNY 30 Yuan.
Tianmen Mountain lower cable car station is located 1 km north of Zhangjiajie Railway Station. From Zhangjiajie Railway Station, visitors can either take city bus route 13 or walk to the Tianmen Mountain lower cable car station.

Tianmen Mountain lower cable car station locates 10 kilometers south of Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. Visitors can take either route 4 or route 17 city bus from the West Railway Station to go there. It takes about 50 minutes and bus fare is CNY 2 Yuan per person. To take taxi, it takes about 15 minutes to travel from Zhangjiajie West Railway Station to Tianmen Mountain lower cable car station, and taxi fare is about CNY 40 Yuan per person.
Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station is only 900 meters away from the Tianmen Mountain lower cable car station. Visitors can either take city bus route 13 or walk to Tianmen Mountain lower cable car station.

Driving distance between Tianmen Mountain lower cable car station and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is about 29 kilometers. There is no direct bus service between the two places. To take taxi, it takes about 40 minutes for one way journey with cost of roughly CNY 100 Yuan. To save, travelers can take the shuttle bus from any of the entrances of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park to go to Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station firstly, and then change to city bus route 13 or even walk to Tianmen Mountain lower cable Car Station from there.
